 The known and unknown!

Yes, it’s History. A small group in Toronto wished to join hands together inorder to keep their customs, traditions, and values in life and guide their children towards the same lifestyle.

We have grown and evolved a lot from our initial goals and aims. Now we are able to help those who need our services. Helping one another form the core of our Nair values. that at maximum level always.

Our 1st public program was held on the 16th of September, 2003 (Ramayanamaasacharanam)

at the Nagabhooshani Amman Kovil in Scarborough. We registered as a non-profit organization on September 23 ,2003 using the name of Nair Social Society Of Canada (NSS). Today, we have a membership of more than 100 families. We celebrate Vishu every April, and have picnic in the summer time. We also celebrate Onam, along with observing Mandalapooja in December. Our activities have happened on numerous stages around the Greater Toronto Area and its vicinity, such as at the Kandaswami Temple (Scarborough), Victoria Hall (Markham),Sri Ayyappan Temple auditorium(Toronto) and Old Age Adult Center (Mississuaga). All our activities have provided opportunities for children and their families to show case their talent. Moreover we have a small scholarship program for children who are entering college/university for the first time.

From a charitable perspective, we helped when the Tsunami hit and devastated parts of Asia in 2006. We also help orphanages in Kerala, with the most recent one being Sabari Balashram.

One of our main objective is to help the new immigrants and we always help the needy at our level best.Other numerous activities include Talent search, Film shows, Winter entertainment, Tours and garage sales for fundraising purpose.

This is still the beginning for us. We realize there is a long way to go. There is a continued pledge amongst our members towards working hard to further ourselves in every way possible. This continued dedication is the corner stone of our happiness, and we sincerely hope that it will continue for years to come.
